We’ve been working closely with owner, Ellen Disterhaft, since February 2025 and she’s found rapid success with her CloseBy® Text Marketing program. Only four months in, Ellen has already grown her text list to 136 subscribers and counting! This month, we had the chance to speak with Ellen and learn all the tips driving her success with CloseBy®!

Q: What was the biggest reason you signed up for the text program?

“We wanted an additional way to communicate with local customers—something quick and direct to keep them engaged and informed about updates, specials, and events. Texting feels more personal and immediate than other channels. It’s helped us stay top of mind and drive more repeat visits.”

Q: What’s your favorite message you have sent out?

“One of our most successful messages was a closing early/donuts promo:
‘Fridays are best with DONUTS! Preorder yours today & pick up tomorrow from 10–2!! Blueberry & Lemon Poppyseed! http://a-m-p.us/fapfrt-14′

Even though we were only open for 4 hours, we matched the sales of a full day—and a good one at that! It was a great example of how the right message with urgency and pre-order options can drive big results.”

Q: What do you think has been the best way to promote the program for your business?

“The most effective way has been promoting it during checkout—when customers are paying, we mention the text program and point out the table tents. That face-to-face connection makes a big difference. It feels personal and gives us a chance to explain the value of joining right on the spot.”

Q: What’s your favorite part of the text program?

“The simplicity of the platform—it’s SO easy to use! Everything is well-organized and user-friendly. I love that I can schedule messages in advance, which saves time and keeps things running smoothly. There are so many great features, but the ease of use is definitely my favorite.”

Q: What has the text program done for your business?

“It’s had a huge impact—we can clearly track ROI and see the results. One text brought in 35 pre-orders, helped us sell 85 boxes of donuts, and brought over 100 people through the door. We made over $1,300 that day! Another text led to us selling out of Energy Bombs and other products within just 4 hours—we made $842.32. These are huge numbers for us! The program drives real traffic and revenue consistently.”

“Yes, absolutely! It’s a perfect fit for any business. Once you identify your goals and ideal client, it’s easy to tailor messages to keep them engaged and coming back. The platform is intuitive and adaptable, making it simple to connect with customers effectively.”
