Q: What’s your favorite part of the text program?
The ability to be instantly relevant. When something unexpected comes up—like a storm, a last-minute sale, or limited inventory—we can communicate immediately. That real-time connection allows us to stay top of mind and provide value when customers are actively paying attention.
Q: What was the biggest reason you signed up for the text program?
We’ve had our text club since 2013, when we were a younger business looking for a more direct way to connect with customers. We preferred using a text club rather than email because texts feel more immediate and actually get seen. We also liked that text messaging isn’t overcrowded—we don’t receive a lot of junk texts—so our messages stand out and stay relevant to our customers.
Q: What’s your favorite message you have sent out?
Our favorite messages are the ones sent in the moment, especially during snowstorms or local emergencies. Being able to quickly alert customers that snow blowers are available when they actually need them has been incredibly effective.

Q: Have you found the program easy to use?
Yes! Having a dedicated Account Manager has made a huge difference. They’re easy to reach, responsive, and helpful, which is critical when we already have so many day-to-day responsibilities running the store. Knowing we have support makes the program simple to manage and stress-free.
Q: What has the text program done for your business?
It has given us a better outlet to communicate with our customers. Instead of hoping they see a post or an ad, we can reach them directly with important updates, promotions, and reminders. That direct line of communication has helped us stay connected and more responsive as a business.
Q: What do you think has been the best way to promote the program for your type of business?
The most successful approach has been promoting the program right at the point of sale. We use a QR code by the register so customers can easily sign up before they leave. We also make sure to verbally mention the program during checkout, which helps increase opt-ins. In addition, posting signage on a few walls throughout the store reinforces awareness and captures customers who may be waiting or browsing.
