Q: 4. What was the biggest reason you signed up for the text program?
As a new business, we needed help with marketing and getting the word out about our food and specials. We signed up at the perfect time—right after our first-year “honeymoon phase” when the initial rush started to slow down. About three months in, AMP came in and helped us re-energize our marketing, stay visible, and keep customers coming back. It ended up being a perfect fit at exactly the right moment.
Q: Have you found the program easy to use?
Absolutely! The program is incredibly easy to use and has made communication a breeze.
We love the personal touch and the strong relationship we’ve built with our Account Manager—she really understands our business and our customers. With our busy schedules—my wife owns a florist shop and January and February is always hectic—having CloseBy handle messages, suggest ideas, and make sure everything goes out smoothly has been a huge help. It takes the stress off our shoulders and ensures we stay connected with our customers every day without missing a beat.
Q: What’s your favorite part of the text program?
Hands down, our favorite part of the text program is having our Account Manager.
With our busy schedule, it’s been incredibly helpful having Cortney handle sending messages and coming up with creative ideas. She always makes sure our lunch specials go out on time and keeps every message engaging and fun for our customers. It’s taken a lot off our plate and made the program truly effortless for us.
Q: What has the text program done for your business?
The Text Program has been a game changer for our business.
Our menu changes daily, and texting lets us get that information out immediately. Most customers aren’t checking our website, and many of our blue-collar and construction customers aren’t on Facebook—texting gives them an easy way to see what we’re serving each day.
We’ve also seen firsthand how quickly it can boost sales. On a day we expected to be slow, we sent out a shrimp special at 4:30pm and the place started filling up almost immediately. One high school football coach even said when he walked in that he got the text while sitting in his car about to leave work and drove straight over. Moments like that show how powerful and effective the program really is.
Q: What do you think has been the best way to promote the program for your type of business?
Social media and in-store text marketing materials have been the most effective way to promote the program! Posting regularly on social keeps our Text Club top-of-mind, while the text marketing materials shipped to our restaurant make it easy for customers to sign up on the spot. That combination has helped us grow the list and drive real traffic through the door.
Q: What’s your favorite message you have sent out?
Our customers go wild for our Country Surf & Turf message:
“BEEF RIBS are stealing the spotlight TODAY! Turn up the heat with Surf & Turf by adding Butterfly Shrimp, or go all in with just the shrimp!”
It consistently drives excitement and gets people in the door because that combo is a fan favorite.
